01 — About & Mission
My journey into public health and medicine.
MPH student in behavioral and community health, aspiring physician, and a steady presence for the communities I serve.

Hello, my name is Tyren Brown and welcome! I am a student pursuing a Master of Public Health focusing on behavioral and community health within marginalized populations, and an aspiring physician committed to serving both individual patients and the communities they come from holistically. My academic and clinical experiences have shaped my interest in understanding health beyond diagnosis, recognizing the social, behavioral, and structural factors that influence outcomes.
My path to medicine has been shaped by a range of experiences that have challenged me to grow both personally and professionally. Earlier in my journey, I was deeply involved in basketball, an experience that instilled discipline, resilience, and a strong sense of teamwork. All the while, the arts have provided a different but equally important perspective, encouraging reflection, creativity, and a deeper appreciation for the human experience. Together, these influences continue to shape how I approach both medicine and public health.
I am driven by a desire to become more than a provider of care. I hope to be a steady and trusted presence within the communities I serve, someone who not only treats illness, but also understands and engages with the broader contexts that shape health. Through a career that bridges medicine and public health, I aim to contribute to stronger, healthier communities while remaining grounded in service, perspective, and purpose.
